Futurity, Derby & Open mail-in entries with payment must be post marked by April April 20th. On-line entries taken through May 2nd - you will be invoiced for payment. Late entries taken on site with late fee for futurity/derby entries. Open & Youth have no late fees - all on site entries are CASH ONLY.
No selling of spots after Wednesday May 7th – must go through office.

NO DOGS ALLOWED IN KIPLINGER OR ALICE INDOOR BARN. DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES! NO SEGWAYS, HOVERBOARDS, SCOOTERS, ETC. INSIDE THE ARENAS.
THE ALICE INDOOR BARN WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR WARMUP (NO BARRELS) ALL 3 DAYS.
Please refer to the Nebraska State Veterinarian's website regarding the transportation of animals into and with the state boundaries of NE. This step is to protect you from costly fines by the State of NE.
The Triangle Cross Classic Futurity will be governed by our committee and their decisions will be FINAL. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any horse or individual.
1. The Triangle Cross Classic will be held May 9-11, 2025 at the Kiplinger Arena, Red Willow County Fairgrounds, 1412 West 5th Street, McCook, NE 69001.
2. The Futurity is open to horses foaled in 2020 or after. Horses must not have reached the age of six by the time of the futurity. All Futurity entrants must be checked in prior to competing. (see schedule for times)
3. To be eligible for the futurity, the horse must never have competed in ANY barrel racing prior to November 15, 2024. To do so means to forfeit any and all fees paid and elimination from the futurity. Horses may have competed ANYWHERE after November 15, 2024. Horses may have been entered in other events.
4. Owners may enter more than one horse. The owner does not have to ride his/her own horse. Either male or female rider is allowed and no age limit to the rider.
5. Substitutions for horses will be allowed due to death, injury or illness of the entered horse with a $25 fee and a copy of the substituted horse’s papers, or vet’s affidavit of year of birth and description. Any substituted horse will be ridden by the originally nominated rider. Substitutions for riders allowed for a $25 fee.
6. If horse falls, no rerun will be granted.
7. FUTURITY HOME GROWN AWARD to highest placing breeder/rider/owner – must be breeder, owner, rider (or immediate family) to be eligible for this award.
8. Amateur Sidepot – 2 go’s – Rider cannot have won more than $1000 lifetime earnings in futurity monies prior to Nov 15, 2024, nor be a WPRA cardholder.
9. NOMINATION AND SUSTAINING FEES
Total Futurity Entry Fees will be $300 – due April 20th.
Any payments post marked after the due date will be figured LATE and assessed a late fee. Late fees will be $40 for missed payment. Late entries taken on site with a $40 late fee – cash only.
10. All checks for entry fees will be made payable to “Triangle Cross LLC” and mailed to Triangle Cross LLC, 20778 US Hwy 36, Norton, KS 67654. Any insufficient fund checks received will automatically require all fees payable by cashier’s check or cash plus $50 per ISF check received.
11. All entries must be accompanied by a copy of registration papers.
12. Pre-entries can also be made online and payments via credit card. Email debchristy@trianglecross.com for details.
13. There will be an office charge which include administration fees, timer fees and starting fees of $75 per entry fee per horse with the balance of $225 being added to the purse. (75% payout)
14. 70% of the total pot goes to the 1D; 30% goes to the 2D - based on a one second split. 100% of added money plus the $225 for each fully paid-up horse, whether they run or not. Each division will be split as follows:
30% to the first Go-Round
30% to the second Go-Round
40% to the Fastest Average on the 2 Go-Rounds
15. There will be two go-rounds, the first go-round will be run on Saturday, May 10, 2025, and the second go will run in reverse order on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
16. General ground rules, arena riding times and any additional information will be posted online at www.trianglecross.com and on the Triangle Cross Classic Facebook group and also at the Entry Office.
17. Stalls & RV hookups are available and can be reserved on the entry form.
18. Full dress code required: Long sleeved shirts, western hats or helmets and riding shoes or boots must be worn. Photographer on site.
19. Any knocked down barrel receives a 5 second penalty.
20. Futurity entries may carry their times to the Open 4D. Designation and appropriate fees must be secured before first runner of the futurity.
1. The Derby is open to any horse that is EIGHT (8) years and under as of January 1. All Derby entrants must be checked in and numbered prior to competing. Do not have to have competed in the derby or futurity in prior years.
2. Horses are not allowed to enter the futurity and the derby in the same year.
3. There will be two go-rounds, first go round on Saturday May 10, 2025, and second go round on Sunday May 11, 2025. Money paid back in each of the go-rounds and in the two go average.
4. Entry Fees will be $150.00 of which $35.00 is an administration charge.
5. 70% of the total pot goes to the 1D; 30% goes to the 2D. Based on a .75 sec split. Each division will be split as follows:
30% to the first Go-Round
30% to the second Go-Round
40% to the Fastest Average on the 2 Go-Rounds
6. Futurity Rules & Regulations will apply to the Derby where Triangle Cross Classic and Barrel Futurity Committee deem necessary.
7. DERBY HOME GROWN AWARD to highest placing breeder/rider/owner – must be breeder, owner, rider (or immediate family) to be eligible for this award.
$45 EF EACH DAY & $500 ADDED EACH DAY
1. Unless otherwise stated, BBR rules apply.
2. 1/2 split - knocked over barrel is a no time
3. The same horse cannot run twice unless by immediate family member.
4. If a horse falls, no rerun.
5. Must run all 3 days to be eligible for average awards (carry overs from Futurity/Derby count if also run on Friday)
1. 16 years of age & younger as of 1st of year
2. Full second split
3. Youth may carry their time from the open but must designate before they make their first run.
PEEWEES – 6 & UNDER as of 1st of year. Saturday only. Enter on site.
